The Office for Women AppointWomen database
AppointWomen is a database that gives women an opportunity to be considered for appointment to a variety of Australian Government boards and other decision-making bodies. AppointWomen is being hosted internally by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
As requested by women registrants, AppointWomen can now accept your own individual resume. This replaces the need to register with a password, or to update or complete the former template with its standardised criteria.
We are keen to make sure that we have all your current contact details easily available for searching. Please take this opportunity to update your information by emailing your resume, as a Word or pdf document, as well as the candidate details form attached, to contactus@appointwomen.gov.au.
We will send confirmation of receipt, at which time your information will be available for searching when government board vacancies arise.Be sure to include your board experience in your resume! You can send us an updated resume at any time.
AppointWomen is no longer able to provide the option of reciprocal registration with the privately run Women on Boards site. Please be aware that you will need to separately update your information with that site.
The Australian Government is committed to improving the rates of participation of women in positions of influence. Departments actively work together towards that goal; utilising AppointWomen to ensure women are well represented in candidate lists for vacancies on Australian Government boards and bodies is one of the ways in which this can be achieved.
